Product description
Description Jos Nic De Vuyst was a Belgian artist who was born in 1896 in Ghent and died in 1946 in Sint-Amandsberg. He was a draughtsman, painter and watercolorist. Jos Nic de Vuyst found his inspiration in religious and folk scenes. His figures often appear cheerfully playful, sometimes ironic and caricatural. He liked somber tonalities, yet managed to get beautiful light effects in his works, as in this work. Both the work and the frame are exceptionally beautiful and add a dose of charm to the space. The many lines with which this work is drawn allow you to spend hours looking at the details and craftsmanship. The work is framed and the rear panel has the artist's signature fingerprints with the words "Nemo me Impune Lacessit", No one provokes me with impunity. Frame dimensions: Height: 136 cm Width: 106 cm Depth: 4 cm This insane work drawn with charcoal using the Cross-hatching technique was created by Jos Nic de Vuyst in 1934.
Minor damage to frame.
