The Early Days: From Ølholm Møbelfabrik to Omann Jun.

The story begins in 1919, when Niels Omann founded Ølholm Møbelfabrik in Ølholm, Denmark. In 1933, his youngest son, Andreas Omann, launched Omann Jun., initially focusing on beds and tables. Sharing resources and carpenters with Ølholm Møbelfabrik, the two family businesses thrived under the leadership of Niels’ sons, Andreas and Sigfred.

Post-War Expansion: A Family Affair

After WWII, Andreas’ sons, Gunni and Bjarne Omann, joined the business. They expanded the product line to include sideboards, desks, coffee tables, and enfilades, elevating Omann Jun.’s reputation. This shift aligned with the rise of Denmark's furniture industry, exporting the "Made in Denmark" ethos of functional, high-quality design.

The Next Chapter: A Shift to Office Furniture

In 1979, Gunni and Bjarne took full control of Omann Jun. In 1990, Gunni sold his shares to Bjarne, who pivoted the business towards office furniture. Since 2005, Ulrich Omann (3rd generation) has led the company, reissuing classic designs on request. In 2013, the company relocated to modern facilities in Horsens.
