Whoppah has been the place to sell second-hand design since 2019. This is a seller guide, not a buyer roundup. On 4 September 2026 the live catalogue sat at 174,929 buyable listings site-wide, with furniture at 79,822 and bags at 1,109. Those numbers are the market you are walking into, not a promise about your item. Listing is free in the usual flow. The curation team reviews every listing before it goes live. Buyer protection covers the purchase for the person who buys. You ship, or the buyer books a Whoppah courier where that option is offered.

The year-end window is simply when people look for gifts and for pieces that will be used in a darker house. It is not a sale event. There is no back-dated discount and no "Black Friday" language on this page. What changes is attention, not the rules.

A listing that sells is a listing a stranger can trust from a phone. That means photos, measurements and an honest condition note. It does not mean a speech. If you are listing more than one piece, list them separately. A sofa plus a lamp in one advert is harder to ship, harder to price, and harder for curation to pass. Two clean listings will outrun one bundled story.

What should I photograph before I list?

Photograph the piece the way a buyer will inspect it. Exterior, interior, corners, hardware, labels, and anything you would be annoyed to discover after paying. For a bag that includes the serial or microchip area. For a lamp, the socket and the shade edge. For a table, the top in raking light. Use daylight. Do not crop out a repair. The curation team will send the listing back if the photos and the text do not agree, and that delay is almost always longer than taking the extra picture now. Listing an item takes a few minutes once the photos are done.

How does shipping work when I am the seller?

You can ship the piece, or the buyer can book a Whoppah courier where that option is shown. Large furniture should not go as a small parcel. State the dimensions honestly so the courier option is even possible. Pack glass as glass. Keep the conversation on the listing, not off-platform. Buyer protection covers the purchase; it is not a reason to skip packing. If a case is opened because the piece did not match the listing, the photos you took at the start are what the case is read against.

How should I describe condition without talking myself out of a sale?

Name the wear. A 40-word note that points at a scuffed corner and a replaced knob will outsell a 200-word note that says "beautiful vintage". Buyers on Whoppah read photos first. Your job is to make sure the text does not contradict them. Do not invent a factory grade. Do not use sale language. If you have the original box or a receipt, say so and photograph it. If you do not, do not imply that you do.

Price against the live page, not against what you paid. If comparable sofas on furniture sit in a band, sit in that band. If comparable bags on bags are thinner than you hoped, say so in the title rather than in a caption. A listing that is honest about era and wear gets through curation faster than a listing that argues.

List on create-ad. If you are pricing a bag, read the live bags page for comparable one-off items rather than a memory of a boutique ticket. If you are pricing a sofa, read furniture the same way. The market is the listings that are up today.
